Words to Encourage – Psalm 55:22

Reading Time: < 1 minute

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:22, ESV

Continuing on with the theme of encouragement, many of us are carrying burdens we have collected throughout our lives. Some may be new and some may be old, but burdens are burdens whatever they be and they drag us down.

Whatever is weighing you down today, may you cast your burden on the Lord and allow Him to sustain you.

It is very easy to fall into the trap of self-reliance and trying to overcome our burdens through our own strength and ingenuity. However, I have found in my personal struggles that the more I try to do it on my own, the more overwhelmed I end up and the more out-of-control the situation(s) become.

There is a peace and calm that comes with letting go of that control and letting God handle it His way. So, Friends, let us set aside pride and self-reliance and give our burdens and challenges to the Lord Christ Jesus.
